All About the Celebration Cruises!

Are you curious about the largest cruise ship on the Lake of the Ozarks? You're not alone! Our cruise at the Lake of the Ozarks offers a number of options for you, your family, your office (& any group) to enjoy! From a themed cruise to a private cruise, the list goes on and on as to what you can expect when you board the Celebration Cruises! We have dedicated this week's blog to sharing some detailed information about both of our cruise ships at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Celebration

The ship was built in Lacrosse Wisconsin, where it launched in 1997 for it's first voyage. When the cruise ship made it's way to the Lake of the Ozarks, it traveled in two sections. The trip to Missouri took over a week, due to special permits and escort that was required! The top deck was placed on the bottom and welded, once it made it's way to the Lake. The construction of the boat is made up marine-grade steel and powered by two Caterpillar 3119 marine diesel engines, each which generates 205 horsepower. A Sanford generator powers the on-board electrical, provided about 50 KW of power. The Celebration cruise ship is a United States Coast Guard inspected vessel, certified to carry 149 passengers and 7 crew members. An annual inspection is conducted to ensure the crew performs safety drills to a satisfactory level.

Specifications of The Celebration:

80.7 feet long
20 foot beam
4.5 foot draft

Celebration II

Built in 1998, the Celebration II originally sailed on the St. Croix River in Minnesota, as "Song of St. Croix", as a tour boat. It was re-named Celebration and moved to Chicago in 2006. When the vessel was purchased in 2016 by Celebration Cruises, it was re-named Celebration II. Now the ship is docked at the Historic Bagnell Dam in Lake Ozark, Missouri, where it cruises the Lake of the Ozarks. As a United States Coast Guard inspected vessel, Celebration II is certified for up to 149 passengers and 7 crew members. Like the Celebration, this ship is inspected each year to ensure safety drills can be conducted to a satisfactory level, by crew members.
